1. How can I tell if this router supports Fiber or copper 10G SFP? Since it says SFP Ethernet - Does this mean it only supports ethernet cables(copper) not Fiber optics? Or supports both?
2. It says SFP not SFP+. From what I read only SFP+ support 10Gbps. So why does it only says SFP? Also i thought SFP is for copper & SFP+ is for fiber optics.
3. Does cisco makes 10Gbps copper SFP?
Thank you

Hello @Gucamole ,
the port should support both SFP and SFP+ either copper or fiber based.
There is a tool that allows to check compatibility.
Before the optical compatibility matrix was made of tables per platforms.
the new tool allows to search starting from the part number of the optics.
see
3) there are and some of them have part numbers that look like to be fiber short range I have seen this in a customer.
From the CLI I thought they were fiber based 10 GE Short range actually they had an RJ45 connector.
You need cabled category 6 or better to support 10GE on RJ45
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Most of the Modules support Copper SFP and Fibre SFP in SFP.

Cisco has SFP + 10GB , but not Copper SFP (may be you can try 3rd party) some people said it working.
3. Does cisco makes 10Gbps copper SFP?
Not that i am aware, as i said some one in the forum tested 3rd part 10GB Copper SFP it works

Cisco SFP-10G-T-X was released back in December 2021 2020, however, software support is very slow in catching up. Other people who have already deployed 10 Gbps copper SFP (before Cisco's release) have used/been using 3rd party with very good success.
