Need to find an IOS for Cisco 2821 router for high school classroom.

This router is EOL and it appears that it's too old to be downloaded directly from Cisco, but is there a chance that someone has an IOS that I can get for this router?  It was donated to my Computer Science classroom and I would like to get it up and running instead of just disposing of it.  Buying a new router isn't an option because it's public education and there is no budget for that.  Thanks in advance for your help.

If you are in rommon mode you should be able to use tftpdnld to tftp the image file from a PC/tftp server that has the correct image file. Note that to use tftpdnld you must initialize a set of variables before you run the copy process.

Since you mentioned for education purpose, just googled find this, see if that work for you :

https://doc.lagout.org/network/Cisco/IOS%20Collection/c2800/

Note : I do not own that site, that is google search results, I am not validated that , so you need use at your risk

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Thanks BB.  This looks like what I need.   So help me with this if you can.  I have this router for the classroom that I want to get up and running.  It was purchased at a thrift store and there was no compact flash with it.  I ordered a new, blank compact flash and put it in the router.   The router currently just boots up to rommon.  I tried coping the .bin file directly to the new compact flash but it doesn't seem to open or install on its own when the router is booted.  I cant do a tftp download because I cant set an IP address on any of the ports since I am in ROMMON mode.  Is there an article somewhere that can guide me through this?  What are your thoughts?

Here is a photo of what I am trying to get past.

While in rommon, can you see .bin on CF and can you see the config reg setting?

If you are in rommon mode you should be able to use tftpdnld to tftp the image file from a PC/tftp server that has the correct image file. Note that to use tftpdnld you must initialize a set of variables before you run the copy process.

BTW, as you mention this is for public education, you might consider contacting Cisco.

Often many tech vendors will do nice things for schools.  (One reason, they like to see students learn on their equipment [and advocate for using it years later].)
