Need to test exchanging a large number of prefixes over BGP

I am testing a new circuit and once in production we will need to be exchanging a large number of prefixes (400+) over the connection. The provider normally restricts you to less than 50 but they have said they can allow more and have done so for us. Is there an easy way to test this? I don't really want to manually setup 400 loopbacks.

Thanks!

Hi,

if you really need to test (why? 400 prefixes is nothing special in BGP world.), the easiest way would be configuring 400 static routes in your router config (pointing to Null or an alive next-hop) and redistribute static to BGP.

You can create a script (or Excel) to generate those static routes to a text file easily and paste them to your config.

HTH,

Milan
