Hi all,

I am stuck in a problem.

In ISDN layer in DEACTIVATED state. when I checked the NIM card status I can see that it stuck in booting state.

The router was running with the following version:

IOS: 15.5

ROMMON:16.7

Now we have upgraded the router version to the latest version.

But still the NIM card in booting state.

Can anybody suggest anything to resolve the issue.

Hello,

I guess after the upgrade you have tried to reseat the card (remove it and put it back in) ?

What device is this on (e.g. ISR4K) ? IOS 15.5 sounds rather old...

We already reseated the module.

Device: ISR4321

IOS : 17.3.4a

Hello,

not good. I see there is another NIM that is 'booting' as well. Can you try and swap the slots (that is, install the NIM in the other slot) ?

During the primary troubleshooting , performed the swapping.

Also tried to force restart of this slot.

Is there any chance if I replace the NIM card with new one.

Hello,

replacing the card is of course an option, if you can easily do that. Not sure if this is a production unit, but you could try and downgrade the IOS to let's say a late 16.x or earlier 17.x version.
