no L codes in routing table.

hello all,

I am having issues with a small lab setup. I am working on setting up rip with floating static routes but routing tables on both routers are no showing any L codes. I'm getting C,R, and S, but am not able to route through. are either of these issues related, and what would cause no L codes.

I'm using 1841 routers with IOS 12.4 if that makes a difference.

Those type of routes were not implemented in your IOS version.

So there is another reason why it is not working.

Jon is quite right that the 1841 router code does not implement the L (locally connected interface) route entry in the routing table. If you can not route through then there is some problem in your routing setup. Please post a diagram showing the topology of the network, the output of show ip route from each router, and a description of what does work and what does not work. Posting the router configurations would also be helpful.

the issue was likely a halted or frozen process. reloading the devices started routing properly.

Thanks for posting back and letting us know that you have it working.
