OSPF area range

Hello expert,

I am trying to configure an ospf area range to summarize the routes in area 1:

1.1.8.0/24, 1.1.9.0/24, 1.1.10.0/24, 1.1.11.0/24

by using area 1 range 1.1.8.0 255.255.252.0

However, on the other ospf routers in area 0, I can see the summary route 1.1.8.0/22, and also the four /24 routes.

I am using 12.4 image, do I miss anything?

Thanks.

Hi,

How many ABRs do you have between area 0 and area 1 ? If you only configure the

area range

command on one of the ABRs, then the other ABRs will still advertise the /24s.

Hi,

I think You have done the things correctly. is this configuration done on the router once it alredy had the above listed /24 routes in the database.

Is this a test setup. try clearing the routes manually and check if the router still lists them.

clear ip route
