We have a single area network, with statics used quite a lot, when I use the above command, It displays a number of routers, but what puzzles me is that it shows then as asbr rather than abr. We have no link to any other AS so why would it do this?

cheers

Hello Grant,

if your routers redistribute static routes into OSPF they are ASBR: you don't need to have a BGP session to some ISP to qualify a router as ASBR from the point of view of OSPF.

What you see is normal in your scenario

Hope to help
