Hello,
1) Will OSPF install by default two equal cost routes in routing table, or "maximum-paths". has to be configured?
2) If by default router only installs one route, how does it select one (from two equal cost routes) ?What is the criteria?
3) if I have this sittuation:
172.16.0.0/24 INTRANET----R1---------------|
172.17.0.0/24 R3
172.18.0.0/24 INTRANET----R2---------------|
172.19.0.0/24
OSPF runs between R1, R2, and R3. R3 is router in remote location and it is connected to INTRANET via two equal links.
For R3 INTRANET route has equal costs via R1 and R2, and R3 can only install one best OSPF route in routing table.
INTRANET i.e has four networks 172.16.0.0/24,172.17.0.0/24,172.18.0.0/24, and 172.19.0.0/24.
Will router R3 select only one router (i.e R1) and routes for all four networks will be via R1, or it could happen that in routing table of R3 i.e networks 172.16.0.0/24,172.17.0.0/24 would be via R1 and 172.18.0.0/24,172.19.0.0/24 via R2?

OSPF has a default of four equal cost paths.
So, in your scenario, there would certainly be two equal paths in the routing table.
The actual load balancing will utilize CEF and is typically routed per-session over a single path.
