Hi all,
I'm currently designing for a customer a new MAN. There are two different Layer 2 domaines as the MAN backbone (area 0) from the provider.
My question:
Is it a good practice to configure each of the l2 domaines with a subnet and connect these one to the site ABRs.( currently two routers/layer3 switch)
This means the ospf area 0 have two ip subnets !
Thanks
Udo

Also, I have a multiarea OSPF network with two IP subnets in area 0. Because of subnets have different bandwidth, one of subnets is a primary link and another subnet is a backup.
It's a good practice and it's reliability fault-tolerant design.
In your case, if two links have same bandwidth, you can use both likns simultaneously (equal load balance).

Hi Ognjen,
Thanks for this information.
There are two equal bandwidth links. Then I can the traffic load-balance...

Udo
