Hi

Which type of address does OSPFv3 use to form neighbor adjacencies and to send LSAs?
A. unicast IPv6 addresses
B. link-local addresses
C. multicast address FF02::5
D. unicast IPv4 addresses

I believe both link-local address and multicast address FF02::5 are used for the neighbor formation.

Can anyone give the one answer, question-wording are seems to be tricky for me.

Hello,

for the sake of verification, I configured two OSPF neighbors and ran a debug:

GigabitEthernet0/0 is up, line protocol is up
Link Local Address FE80::E39:1BFF:FED8:6000, Interface ID 2

Hi @sivam siva

 The answer is:

C. multicast address FF02::5

OSPF for IPv4 uses the multicast 204.0.0.5

OSPF for IPv6 uses the multicast FF02::5

Are multiple answers possible, or is just one answer allowed ?

Hi @georg
only one answer, that is the Unfortunate question.

Thanks
