OTV ASR New Issue

Hi All,

ASR OTV has been working for all the VLANS we have for a few years now. We have 2 edge devices for each DC - AED is even & odd vlan load-balanced as standard for active.A new vlan added recently is getting this one of the DC sites (the other is fine):

Non-working VLAN:

Inst VLAN BD Auth ED    State    Site If(s)

0   210  210      -         inactive   G0/0/1:SI210

Working VLAN:

Inst VLAN BD    Auth ED        State        Site If(s)

0   208  208    LOU_OTV1  active   G0/0/1:SI208

It works this output for the non-working VLAN on BOTH Edge devices inactive. The other VLANs are stretching fine and are active or inactive (NA) as per normal with the Auth ED showing!

Any thoughts on debugs/commands to tshoot?

Doing a show otv routes we are learning the 210 VLAN from the other side but we are learning nothing from the BD on both edges at the problem site. Thinking of doing a reboot & can't find any bugs in release notes that allign. The switch connected to the OTV setup is defintively forwarding the VLAN and the config is identical for this VLAN to others & the OTV service instance config has been tripple checked.

Thanks

Hello @JonathanC1 ,

what is the site VLAN on the non working site ?

This is something to be checked.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Good day friend, in the end looked to be a software issue we had to bounce the router and it magically started working.

The site vlan you mentioned we did check on tshoot it was fine. Warm regard J

Hello @JonathanC1 ,

thanks for your feeback

>> in the end looked to be a software issue we had to bounce the router and it magically started working.

do you mean that you have reloaded the router ?

Best Regards

Giuseppe

Sorry for late reply Giuseppe. It was sufficient enough to bounce the OTV overlay interface. Although a reload I'm sure would have done the trick also. Config was all OK seemed to be a bit buggy we concluded as we could add another VLAN for example 211 OK but the 210 remained not working in the states highlighted in original post!
