Good Day,
Im not certain if this is just related to packet tracer as I have not tested this yet on live equipment.
This is the Scenario, I was configuring hsrp and managed to duplicated ip address on sub interfaces. I received no warnings or errors. (This would normally occur on just configuring interfaces directly you would receive an error - duplicate address)
I configured the sub interfaces first before bringing up the physical interface.

Hello,
I just tested this on Packet Tracer, no error message is generated, while on live equipment, an %IP-4-DUPADDR error message is generated right away. So it seems to be one of the many quirks of Packet Tracer...
