Is a simple Ping processed diffrently then a Extended Ping with the Record flag set? Does the router process switch the ping packet in the extended ping?

Hi,
If you set the record flag, all the routers along the path will have to process the ping to update the record field.
It's not be the case of a simple ping which need to be processed only by the final destination.
