Hello Yasmeen,

the U ICMP code should mean unreachable for example administratively forbidden for example by an ACL.

U: A destination unreachable error PDU was received

see for ICMPv6 the following document

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/routing-information-protocol-rip/22974-icmpv6codes.html#errors

and for ICMP codes and traceroute operations in IPv4

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ios-nx-os-software/ios-software-releases-121-mainline/12778-ping-traceroute.html

Verify how many paths to the destination address 2001:4860:4860::8888 exists on the local router.

using show ipv6 route 2001:4860:4860::8888

Hope to help

Giuseppe

HI Guipse,
Switch#traceroute ipv6 2001:4860:4860::8888
Type escape sequence to abort.
Tracing the route to 2001:4860:4860::8888

1 2001:100:0:193::1 !U *
2001:100:0:191::1 !U
