Please help with this Topology Configuration

Configure Open Shortest Path First(OSPF)

Update should be advertised only out of the interfaces that are indicated in the IGP topology diagram

 OSPF process ID is 47

Configure OSPF router ID with interface loopback 0 on respective router.

What is the router name , according you define loopback address

Ex. R1 router loopback address will be 1.1.1.1

R2 router loopback address will be 2.2.2.2

R3 router loopback address will be 3.3.3.3 like that.

Configure Area 0 between the Ethernet segments shared by all Routers.

 Configure OSPF Area 140 between R6, R1, R4,R2 and R7.

Configure OSPF authentication via PPP link between R1 and R4, R2 and R4.

 Configure OSPF Area 47 between R8, R5 and R3.

Ensure Area 47 so that number type 7 LSAs are presented in this area.

Do not create any additional OSPF areas, unless required.

Make the primary and backup path for R3 Router,

when R3 ping to R4 router, packet should be travel from

 R3->R8->R9->R7->R2->R4

and when R4 give the reply it use same reverse route

 R4->R2->R7->R9->R8->R3Site 1-ospf connectivity.png

Hello,

what do you need help with, what is your specific question ? Post the relevant configurations and indicate what you are having trouble with...

I am new at networking and I don't know much about this. How should I start this configuration? I have mentioned what I have to do in this topology

@nehakumari9ar wants you to do his homework.

ok just tell me in this pic i am configuring ip address of the interface but why its changing state to down. after no shutdown its going up but why goes to down? just help me with this onlyScreenshot 2024-04-02 135129.png

Hello,

you probably need the 'clock rate' command, try and configure that command on one side/interface of each serial connection.

how much bandwidth should i give ?

Hello,

clock rate doesn't matter, any value will do.

clock rate 64000

should be fine.

still the Screenshot 2024-04-02 154159.pngsame error. what should I do?

Hello,

odd...can you post the configs of both ends/interfaces of the serial connection ?

I think in that figure only both interfaces are visible for Router1. Interface1- s1/1 and Interface2- s1/0. Both are changing state to down after some minutes.

Or I won't know whether I am doing the wrong configuration first. Is there any rule for this to configure any specific Router first then go for another one?

Hello,

the serial interface that the 'clock rate' needs to be configured on should be DTE. Check whether it is DTE or DCE with the 'show interfaces serial' command...

This is what i get after this commandScreenshot 2024-04-03 001726.png

Actually its DCE. So how should i change it?Screenshot 2024-04-03 002338.png
