We are trying to setup port-channel with redundancy 1:1 with our 6509 router,  but we found that we cannot use the command: lacp fast-switchover

Router(config-if)#lacp ?

Hi Daniel,

For the Catalyst 6500 the lacp fast-switchover command was not introduced until 12.2SXH. From the Understanding LACP 1:1 Redundancy section of the Catalyst 6500 Release 12.2SX Software Configuration Guide:

"Understanding LACP 1:1 Redundancy

With Release 12.2(33)SXH and later releases, the LACP 1:1 redundancy feature provides an EtherChannel configuration with one active link and fast switchover to a hot standby link."

It would be worth you considering a IOS upgrade anyway as 12.2SXF reached End of Support since Feb-2015. See End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(18)SXF for the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series.

Hi Steve,

So if i have a 7600 Series Supervisor Engine 2 card with 6509, i am not possible to run it ?

I checked here seems the latest firmware is SXF

Thanks

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Apologies I missed the fact you were running a Supervisor Engine 2. Unfortunately that SE is not shown as supported in the 12.2SXH release notes so this feature will not be available to you.
