Hi,
how many ppp session can be negotiated per second by a C7206VXR G2 router ?
The router is connected with e 1 GE connection to the backbone and is running IOS
c7200p-adventerprisek9-mz.124-24.T4
One ospf process, one IPSec tunnel, one l2tp tunnel and about 4000 ppp sessions inside the l2tp
radius forwarding activated
Kinde regards

4000 session was in the tested scenarios at Cisco, many years ago already with slower CPUs.
Anyway what matter most is the amount of traffic handled, not the number of sessions.
So you will have to adopt a "deploy and monitor" approach rather than expecting to have canned answers.

Hi Paolo,
when asking my router is get the following answer:
BLNDBPEIPSEC1#sh vtemplate 2
...
Maximum request duration: 24 msec
Average request duration: 5 msec
Last request duration: 4 msec
Maximum processing duration: 24 msec
Average processing duration: 5 msec
Last processing duration: 4 msec
For my opinion, this means the router is able to process about 250 ppp session per second.
Is this a realistic scenario ?

I think it is but as mentioned above, don't just assume, and be ready to add more resources as needed.
