Hello.
Can someone please guide me on how to qualify a client's Router requirement? I know this is broad and will really depend on many specifics.
I want to learn how to size a requirement in choosing whether a 1900, 2900 or a 3900 should be used.
Upon identifying the model, then I would go on to the specific details.
Here is my current list of qualifying questions:
1.) What are their WAN connections? (For recommending appropriate modules)
2.) Is fiber connectivity required from the core to the router? If so, what speeds are we looking at (1GB or 10GB)? (For SFP modules and transceivers)
3.) If SFPs will be used, what is the operating distance of the core to the router? (For recommending the appropriate transceiver)
4.) Will the router function as a voice gateway? (For PVDM modules)
5.) Will the router function as your VPN gateway for IPSec/SSL? (For appropriate licenses)
I also usually ask for the client's network diagram to qualify further.
Any inputs, tips or comments please? I know there are many more questions that are missing.
I am in the learning period and just starting to get familiar with Cisco's products.

The white paper you have provided was extremely helpful because it had general comparison points.
I already tried searching but the threads I usually stumble on have situations where in the person who started the discussion already had their client's specific requirements.
