Provisoning and Positioning of WAN and Internet Links

Would like to know if the MPLS backhaul and Internet links can be placed on the same WAN router ie at the central HQ, the reason being the internet links are to be used as backup to the MPLS links aka DMVPN, any suggestions are most welcome.

Yes of course. What makes you think it would not work?

wanted to know what would be the good practice to follow viz;

1) Have the DMVPN access for the branch users through the Perimeter network (DMZ, FWs etc)

2) If the DMVPN is terminating through the common internet link, as above, would there be a performance related delay.

3) else, if a seperate Internet link for the DMVPN is procured and terminated on the same router as the MPLS links what could be the tradeoffs.

4) Are there such enterprises who have the internet and WAN links terminated on the same router?

Can the different links be placed on the same router, assuming the router supports the media, should be doable.

If the different links are intended to "backstop" each other, then the question becomes does the common device create a single point of failure.  If it does, and you're concerned about statistical up-time, then you'll want to consider device diversity too.

In my company we use - internet router, wan router, dmvpn hub router[we run 100+ tunnels on 3825]

I would not do it in the same device.
