QOS Bandwidth

How does QOS bandwidth work?

Example

If traffic going from my CE to PE requires 5mg of EF1 and traffic from my PE to CE also requires 5mg of EF1 does this mean I need 10mg of bandwidth or are the two queues separate?

No you need 5Mbps of bandwidth at either end.

Thank you very much for replying Jon most appreciated.

Therefore when ordering QOS bandwidth from my provider I only have to take into account my traffic leaving and do not have to worry about adding the incoming traffic?

Basically yes. If you need 5Mbps of bandwidth across their network you order 5Mbps ie. you do not need to double up the figures.

Hi,

You dont need 10 Mbps , you will need 5 Mbps , your  router contains two hardware queues , Input and output that can hold 5 Mbps each.
