QoS on Microwave link with variable bandwidth?

Does anyone have suggestion on how to configure QoS for bandwidth usage and a link with variable bandwidth?  I have multiple routers that connect via fastethernet to microwave radios whose bandwidth varies anywhere from 80mbps to 20mbps depending on many different factors.  Is it possible to have a time based QoS policy?  For instance, from 8 to 5 X-policy and from 5 to 8 Y-policy?

Yes, definitely.

One option is to use EEM: http://forums.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/EEM?page=main

Another is to use cron. But EEM is a much better bet. Applets are really easy to write. And you can do it even better than 8am-5pm.

You can for example have an IP SLA probe, or read some other parameter, and change configuration based on that.

First, you'd create all needed QoS policies, and then you'd have your EEM apply them when needed.

Thanks I will give this a shot, but it sounds like exactly what I need.

Hi Jeremy,

Yes, that's the way to go, it will take you some time to script the applet and some reading at first. EEM is very powerful. Quick question, what kind of radios are you currently using? What is the brand?
