Hi,
What you have tried is unsupported feature; only marking is supported on SVI, no queuing service-policy is supported on SVI.

Hi,
What's your objective? Can you apply qos on physical interface?

it would work on the physical interface but i'm restricted to one physical interface which is being used by the service provider equipment.
the other interface is faulty. there is a lot of unwanted traffic coming from within the LAN and i want to cap it.

Hi,
It sounds you want police the unwanted traffic; have you tried police instead of shape? Since policer does not queue the packet, I think you might be able to use policer under SVI.

thanks Lei.
i cannot seem to find sample configurations for the policer
all i can find still points to the same class based policing which involves the use of a "service-policy" command on the interface which of course cannot be applied to a SVI.
please can you post relevant sources of sample configs for the policer.
thanks
