QoS policy not sticking on Cisco 887 Ethernet0 Interface

Hi Guys,

Can you take a look at this scenario and provide some feedback. We have this following type of QoS policy applied to the Cisco887 for use with VDSL.

policy-map UT
 class UT
  set dscp ef
  priority 3000
 class class-default
  bandwidth percent 85
  fair-queue

interface Ethernet0
 no ip address
 pppoe enable group global
 pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1
 pppoe-client ppp-max-payload 1492
 service-policy output UT

Now, the issue we have is when the upstream bandwidth of the interface goes below 3000kbps it will remove the service-policy from the interface, or won't apply it to the interface when the router first connects over VDSL, resulting in us having to edit this manually for each router.

Is there an option for the Cisco to automatically re-apply the policy when the bandwidth meets the requirements, or so that we can adjust the priority level based on available interface bandwidth without the need for manual reconfigurations?

Regards,

Chris

Some 800 series routers have a "special" WAN Ethernet port, and other Ethernet ports.  The former often supports routing and QoS, the latter are L2 ports.

Hi Jo,

You can apply a QoS policy on the L2 ports too, but for this case the policy is on the Ethernet0 WAN port linked to the VDSL Controller.
