Query on link utilization calculation

Hi,

on a 4mb MPLS link we observe the tx and rx as given below. As per my understanding the transmission and receiving load is utilizing nearly 91% over the available 4 mb link.

I have divided the respective values of tx and rx each of them by 255 and then multiplied each value with 100 to get the actual value and then added both of them resulted to 91%. Is this correct method to calcuate the link utilization for tx and rx. Kindly clarify..

Due to this utilization of 91% we observe application issues for some users ..

reliability 255/255, txload 123/255, rxload 109/255

If your link is full duplex, you have independent tx and rx load, so your tx load is 123/255=48.2% and your rx load is 109/255=42.7%.

Thanks for the info Joseph.
