Question on BGP: What is an AS routing policy

What does BGP use during the best path selection process:

A) Speed
B) AS Routing Policy
C) Bandwidth plus delay
D) number of routers to reach a destination network

Trying to resolve that question made me realize that I did not understand the concept of AS routing policy. Originally thought that BGP was using the Route Selection Process (Highest Weight,...) but this question made me realize that I was wrong.

Can somebody can give me an example of what is an AS Routing Policy.

Thanks for your help
Stéphane

Stephane,

The AS routing policy is meant to be the BGP AS path attributes that it uses to select its best path.

The BGP AS path attributes are , Weight , local preference , As-Path, Origin , Med .
