I have configured subinterface at one end PE and other side media terminate on L3 port of PE getting encap failed error when debug icmp .
Can anybody explain

Hi,
What is your layer 2 encapsulation, encapsulation failure indicates layer 3 to layer 2 mapping problems, can you paste your configuration ?

where I mapped subinterface (Physical link terminate on a switch)

encap dotq 94
ip add x.x.x.1 x.x.x.252

Where I mapped in Router L3 port
int f0/0
ip add x.x.x.2 x.x.x.252
no sh
