Entering rommon> prompt after several failed attempts to boot an IOS image.
Please check your internal/external flash drives for the correct IOS image
and issue 'reset' at the rommon> prompt to re-try the boot process.

This error that shows up several times during the attempts to boot the router indicate that there is a problem with the image loaded into flash
loadprog: error - Invalid image for platform
I would guess that you have attempted to upgrade the image and copied an invalid image into flash on this router. I would think that something like tftpdnld might allow you to copy a valid image (assuming that you do have a valid image) to the router and to boot it.

Exactly what are you trying to achieve?
If you're planning to push a correct IOS into the switch, then doing ROMmon is a very, very old, archaic and backward method. Why?
ISR G1 and G2 (except the 800-series router) have CF slots and USB ports. All you need to do is eject the CF, get a memory card reader and copy the IOS from a machine to the CF. The entire copy exercise will take about 5 minutes compared to 20 minutes using ROMmon (115200 baud rate).
IF the router's bootstrap has been upgraded, you can even boot the router using the USB port.
