Hi,

My question is :-

1) if we do the below, are we limiting the bandwidth of the interface to the limit put in the bandwidth command?

int s0/0

bandwidth 64

!

int s0/0.450 point-to-point

bandwidth 32

!

!

2) Also how do we check the actual bandwidth of the interface, ie) if it is

a 128K line or a 256k line or etc ?

Thank you,

Cheers,

1 for frame-relay you can configure frame-relay traffic shaping and a cir under pvc.

2 to document the circuit and as metric for certain routing protocols.

1, no, it is just an informative parameter

2 on some models, show controllers serial x/y. Or you can use ping times to get an idea.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Hi Paolo,

(1) Thanks for the reply. Say I have 3 sub point-to-point interfaces. How do I limit the bandwidth utilization on these 3 interfaces ? by using MQC ? What other ways can I do this task ?

(2) Also if the bandwidth command is informational, what is its purpose for one to use this command in the first place ?

Cheers,
