reliable static routing backup & DDR

      Hello All:

I'm having trouble configuring a backup dialer when my primary circuit goes down. I have a point to point circuit setup over the internet that connects to my router via FE1/1 port. I have a Good Old Fashion Multiteck 56K modem on POT circuit.

I have configured the ip sla to monitor the  remote interface on the other side of the tunnel  via icmp packets, when the circuit drops I can see the reachability tracking state go up and down based on the status of the remote link.

no matter what I do I can not get the DDR to go on line and make a call.

Does anyone see anything wrong with my configuration.

I have looked at the configuration that you posted. I see that your async interface has dialer group 1 which uses dialer list 1. And here is what you have for that dialer list

dialer-list 1 protocol ip deny

I suggest that you change the deny to permit and see what effect that has.
