Hi,
I understand that this forum is dedicated for issues related to Cisco devices & Network related , I hope my concern raised below does relate to Network issue.
I have recently noticed a issue reported by a user in my office network stating that a shared network printer is not getting access through GUI remotely.
Although the same printer is accessible through GUI locally but over remote it's not accessible through GUI. However, the same shared printer is pingable from the remote router from where the user reported GUI access issue and also from his PC.
Also if I do a telnet to the printer on port 80 from the router I could get a connect output.
when the remote user opens a IE window and when he types in the http://x.x.x.x where x represents the printer ip from his PC the browser ends up in a "page cannot be displayed" window.
what could be the possible causes for this access issue and what kind of necessary checks can be done more ?
James..

Hello,
what type/model/brand is the network printer ? Which devices are between the printer and the remote GUI users ?

Hello,
what are the items marked source and destination in your drawing ? Are the L3 Cisco devices ? Can you post the configurations ?
Accessing (or not) web pages is often MTU related...

Hi Georg,
Thanks for your inputs. I have fixed the issue myself by applying the "tcp segment size" over the wan interface which enabled the remote access.
ip tcp adjust-mss

James,
good stuff. MTU and MSS are often causing these sort of problems. Glad you got it fixed.
