Dears,

I  want to know if 2921 router with 2.5 DRAM will be enough to run a bgp  with the SP as there will be one link with ISP with 16M of speed ??

Abdallah

I'm not convinced that 512Mb would be sufficient.

See below the amount of memory consumed for a full BGP routing table for one of my local ISPs.

route-views.optus.net.au>sh ip bgp summ

BGP router identifier 203.202.125.6, local AS number 65535

BGP table version is 232310515, main routing table version 232310515

453929 network entries using 58102912 bytes of memory

1132424 path entries using 58886048 bytes of memory

91353/74495 BGP path/bestpath attribute entries using 11327772 bytes of memory

65656 BGP AS-PATH entries using 2883588 bytes of memory

2267 BGP community entries using 161056 bytes of memory

9 BGP extended community entries using 216 bytes of memory

0 BGP route-map cache entries using 0 bytes of memory

0 BGP filter-list cache entries using 0 bytes of memory

BGP using 131361592 total bytes of memory

Dampening enabled. 296 history paths, 692 dampened paths

What do you mean when you say 2.5 DRAM?

Minimum required for a full BGP routing table is 512MB, though your 2921 CPU will struggle.
