Reset router without deleting Flash

I have two questions. 

1. I have a 2911 router. How do I reset the router without deleting the contents of the flash memory? I do not want to lose what's in the flash memory

2. I want to copy the entire contents of flash memory to TFTP as a back up. I found this video on YouTube:

Will this configuration work? If I copy the files back into flash of the router, I assume I will have to unpack the files. Is this correct? Any assistance will be appreciated.

hello brother...

you can let it on flash itsel, just rename it.

rt: rename flash:startup-config  flash:bkp_startup-config    

reboot your router

I am new to routers. I really do not understand what you are saying. I do not want to take a chance deleting flash by accident. I will do more research before proceeding.

i wont delete your flash with command above.. you will save your startup-config with an other name, after execute this command you can reboot your router and all configurations will be wiped...  if you want to return the configuration again.. just configuration you saved.

for exemple:

rename nvram: startup-config  nvram:startup-config.bkp   << backup your data.

copy nvram:statup-config.bkp running-config  << restoring your data.

hi,

1. to reset 2911 router config, just issue these two commands: 'write erase' and 'reload'

2. you normally backup IOS stored in flash. just issue a 'copy flash0:/<FILE> tftp'

make sure the TFTP server is reachable and running.
