Restrict connection to ip cam

Im not quite sure I posted this to right place because its about ip cam. But the main problem lays on my switch.

Ok here is the problem. All the switchports are currently in the same VLAN's. You use web browser to connect to ip cam. (local ip address.)

Is there any way to allow only one pc to connect to the ip cam just configuring this switch? I cant change these ports VLANs because the PC still needs a connect to internet.

Here is a bad picture about this case.

Hi Jarkko,

this would meet PVLAN configuration. But it depends on type/model of cisco switch. For example 2960 do not support this functionality.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_tech_note09186a0080094830.shtml

and here is link about PVLAN:

Best Regards,

Jan

Ohh sry I forgot to tell what switch it is. Current switch is Cisco 2960S (Like you noticed on my visio stencil.) and the camera is AXIS 214 PTZ. Changing the switch or camera is not an option this case. So dont think PVLAN is going to help me so much.

If PVLAN is not an option then you could use VLAN ACL (VACL) to control access.

Hello,

from feature navigator it seems that platform 2960 does not support VACL. So I think it is not possible on this switch.

But the best way how to check it is try to issue command vlan access-map on switch.

Best Regards,

Jan

Problem solved!

The camera itself had IP restriction options in it. So no need to mess with my network devices. So this kinda was posted in wrong place after all.

Ah good stuff.

Your diagram made my day by the way
