Which is the best book for reading RIP and OSPF protocols
05-06-2013 01:59 AM
Hello. The book i recommend has the igps in it. I have enjoyed reading Jeff Doyle
Routing TCP/IP Volume 1 several times.
Even though it has badges with CCIE on it, don't be flustered - I read this book at ccna, Jeff takes us through the protocols right from the ground, upwards with thorough explanations.
(Includes Static routing, rip, version 2, igrp, eigrp and ospf, with study cases and examples to practice with)
Hope this helps

Hi,
for OSPF I still recommend "Anatomy of an Internet Routing Protocol" by John Moy:
Of course you can skip the MOSPF part but the rest of the book gives you a great understanding of the design considerations fist-hand from the developer himself.
Enjoy reading,
best regards
