Hi guys,
i am facing a case where the router fail to choose lower distance route.
Here is the topology.
(R1) ------- (R2) ------- (R3) --- (R6)
|| || //
|| || //
(R4)-----------------------(R5) //
R1 , R2 , R3 running EIGRP. R3 also has static routes to R6.
I redistribute the static on R3 and R1 has it as D EX (170).
And also R1 create static route (Distance 200) to R6 with R4 as the gateway.
And something happend. Connection between R3 and R6 are terminated.
R1 choose R4 as the gateway to R6.
And here is the situation.
Connection R5==R6 terminated permanently. And Connection R3==R6 back online.
R3 redistribute the static. R2 has it.
But not R1. All adjacency works. no issue at all.
When i check show ip route x.x.x.x, it was known by static route. Any explanation how it can happend?
To solved it, i just remove static route configuration on R1 and R1 instanly has the route from EIGRP External.
R1 is a switch 3750 Stack Wise.
I already did Clear ip route *. And still static route win.
I forgot to check ip eigrp topology.
But now i need to figure why it happens
