router and switch throughput info

I am trying to find a reference doc on router/swwitch throughput. I have searched on the Cisco website but had not luck so far , can anyone help?

Hi John,

There are many modesl in Cisco routers and switches.
It is difficult to tell the throughput of any router without knowning its model.

The answer for your question is like say Cisco 1841 WAN throughput is 38.40Mbps.
Tell us which model you have so that we can find the max throughput of that.

Hi Naidu,

Thanks , but I was looking for a generic reference doc from Cisco.

i.e. one that gives throughput info for a range of chassis types, from an 800 up to asr1000.

I need it as it helps to reference something like this when putting designs togther for customers

Hi Sean,

I  had a similar query and thus gone through the link and find informative.

The doc. shows process switching and CEF switching parameters. I would like to know if this corresponds with the forwarding capacity of router as provided in the data sheet? For eg. cisco 3945 as given in the doc. is

Router      Model     pps           Mbps

ISR G2      3945    982,000      502.78

whereas according to datasheet circuit-speed WAN performance up to

350 Mbps with services.

Appreciate ur help to clarify on this.
