Router hardware advice

Hello there,

I'm just wondering if anybody had advice on which router would suit the following scenario:

The router will sit in a remote location connected to a public X25 switched network. Into the router will arrive approximately 100k make/break X25 calls a day (95% suring 0830-1830).

The concern here is not the hardware required for the above scenario, since a 2811 is quite capable of this at the moment. But when debug x25 events is enabled (even with no logging console and no logging buffered) the CPU is hitting 80-90% and becomes unresponsive sometimes. There is ssh enabled on it and it runs advancedsec12.4 code. I'm trying to build a similar location with similar traffic profile and need to use the x25 debug commands. Is there a router out there to suit my needs?

Thanks for your responses.

Ken

Ken,

Like you said the 2811 has plenty under the hood for your application. Many debugs include a disclaimer about using them on a production network indicating that something like you are experiencing could happen. This is not to say that there might not be a bug with the code. I would try some upgrade/downgrade exercises to see if anything gives.
