Router in front of Firewall necessary?

I have a customer who will subscribe to a DSL link from the telecom provider. They will put their modem and a an ethernet copper link will be given to the customer.

I have 2 firewalls proposed for redundancy for 2 internet connections.

Do i need a router facing the telco? (just added cost)

I've connected the firewalls directly to the core switch.

I dont see a need for an internet router unless there is some BGP or MPLS link from the provider.

The only routers I used are voice gateways.

Is the solution correct or am I missing some essential value for the 2 internet routers?

You don't have to have a router facing telco. There are firewalls available that would do BGP.

HTH.
