Router Interface won't come up after appying 'no shut' command

My router Interface (Gig 0) Won't come up after applying 'no shut' command.

Interface continue in down status

GigabitEthernet8           10.0.0.226      YES NVRAM  down                  down

Hi

That's a layer 1 physical issue , its down/down , check the cable connection and what its connected too on far side of the interface and if using sfp check that as well
