HI KM,
A packet has to pass thorough only 1 queue in each ingress and egress queue i.e inqueue and outqueue. Based on the default or configured queueing mechanism on the router interface a packet is trnasmitted thorugh the queue.

1. is there any queue to get to backplane?
2. What if a packet has to be process switched? Will it have to be queued for CPU ?

Hi,
1. I am not sure about it but AFAIK there are different buses connected to the backplane for carrying traffic across it.
2. If packet has to be processed switch, yes it will go thorugh the CPU queue to get processed.
