Hi ALL:

I have a small doubt

My 2800 router is getting continiously rebooting once i manually reload it ,otherwise it works fine without any issue.

This is the crash info:

CMD: 'control-plane' 11:44:06 IST Sat Oct 3 2009

CMD: 'banner motd C' 11:44:06 IST Sat Oct 3 2009

CMD: 'privilege exec level 1 traceroute' 11:44:06 IST Sat Oct 3 2009

CMD: 'privilege exec level 1 ping ip' 11:44:06 IST Sat Oct 3 2009

CMD: 'privilege exec level 1 ping' 11:44:06 IST Sat Oct 3 2009

CMD: 'privilege exec level 1 show ip mroute active' 11:44:06 IST Sat Oct 3 2009

Translating "active"...domain server (255.255.255.255)

11:44:06 IST Sat Oct 3 2009: Address Error (load or instruction fetch) exception, CPU signal 10, PC = 0x42372584

From this is conclude 2 thing that after execting command privilege exec level 1 show ip mroute active it reload .

So if i remove this command from the config wil the issue we resolve or i have to upgrade the IOS

Current release Version 12.4(11)XJ

cOMMAND IN RUNNING CONFIG

privilege exec level 1 show ip mroute active

If you want to use that command, you need to update.

Hi P,

Thanks for the reply.

Are you saying that the router is crashing because of that command getting executed.

Regards

Vishwa

May be, you would need to confirm with a stack decode.

Hi Vishwa,

Often the best way to diagnose a Router Crash is to work with TAC.

However, normally I would go ahead and upgrade the IOS after doing a FactFinding on the bugs/issues on the release I have already have and the one I would want to upgrade to.

Hope that helps.

Kind Regards
