Hey everyone,
I’m facing a strange issue with my Cisco router. Every few days, my internet just stops working—no browsing, no LAN access, nothing. But the router itself stays on, and I can still access it through the console. The interfaces show as up, and there are no error messages in the logs.
Restarting the router doesn’t fix it. Even shutting down and re-enabling the interfaces in CLI does nothing. The only thing that works is physically unplugging and replugging the WAN cable. After that, everything runs fine until the issue happens again.
I’ve checked for any obvious problems, but I can’t figure out what’s causing this. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Could it be a hardware issue or a bug? Would really appreciate any help.
Thanks!

- You are not mentioning the router model and even more important the current software version being used =?

When I read the OP my first thought was that it seemed to be some type of ARP/duplicate IP address issue. But those should resolve if the router is rebooted. I am puzzled why issue is resolved by physical disconnect/reconnect but not resolve by reboot.

Hello @usmanoptimizerz ,
what kind of internet service is involved ?
PPPoE or something similar with a session concept that can be reset on provider side by Ethernet OAM or any form of local monitoring like LMI so that unplugging triggers a new complete negotiation ?
Please check with your service provider what kind of service model they are using and report here.
Hope to help
