Team,
Here is my situation. ANy help will be greatly appreciated
Voice recording servers: Witness (2) (Supports SPAN)
CUCM - 8.X
SIP gateways - Cisco 2900's
Sites : 2
Current situations:
Currently, the client voice recording system supports SPAN. Currently, two cisco 2800 series routers connected to two separate PRI. Each Witness voiuce recording server is connected to the LAN/Switch. Every incomming calls records on both Voice recording servers.
Future deployment:
The client is interested to create a DR site with MPLS as a wan transport between two sites. Each site will have its on SIP router (2900) and single Witness recording server.
Currently SPAN works. I dont know if RSPAN will work.My question is, what are the limitations on RSPAN. Can RSPAN will work if i have two voice recording servers in two different sites and and i want each call to be recorded on the witness recording server? ANy Cisco technical document will help too.
Thanks

Hello,
As long as you have Layer-2 Network access between the two sites, you can have RSPAN, I mean if the connection between your main site and the DR site is L2VPN for example RSPAN can work between two dfferent chasis on Catalyst at different sites.
However, if the link between the Main site and the DR site is seperated by MPLS L3VPN (IP Cloud), then you need to have a feature called (ERSPAN).implemented to send a copy of traffic to differenc chasis across layer-3 Network.

Thank you brother. One more question if you know
Does 3700 or 6500 support ERSPAN?I will research 3750 and 6500 technical documents.
Thanks

Hi Mustafa,
As far ad I know, the 6500 does support ERSPAN but the 3750 doesn't.
