running-config adaptability (877M->837)

Hi all,

         One of the questions i have, is whether it is possible for me to adapt my running-config from my 877-M to an 837, which I've been asked to prepare for a small supermarket, which is going to serve 3 lanes, PDE's & a Camera system

The main thing which needs to happen is either Static IP's for the Lanes, or leave the DHCP component of my running config in., and just set a Static MAP for the IP's the machines will need to have

One of my friends did suggest setting Static to be able to lock the system down a bit more

What is your thoughts everyone?

Ummmm ... without looking at your config, what DSL speed are you hoping to achieve with your 837?

Being that the current router they have is an old Alcatel Speedtouch (1.5 max), anything over that is fine

The main reason they are looking at getting it from me is the fact as i mentioned to them, that once you set it up, its basically leave it alone in the corner, lol

Ideally this router is capable of full rate ADSL1, so as soon as i can do some line verification as well, I'll probably be able to guage for sure
