Hi,
I have this issue. I have a RV042 and 2 different internet providers. I am trying to use the the second connection as a backup of the first one. I have configured correctly all the settings (i believe ), I made the first WAN make a ping to google.com (3 attempts every 3 seconds) so as to detect if the internet connection is online or not.
The problem is that when I save ths configuration, all PCs using a fixed IP loose internet connection... I have to disconnect the second Wan and then everything works right again...
Can you please help me?
Thanks,
Guido

Hi,
post your config.
Also only static clients lose access, not dynamic ones?

Hi,
did you select smartlink backup(wan1 primary and wan2 backup) or did you select load-balance ?
Why are you tracking wan2 if this is a backup link only ?
What is the difference between static hosts and dynamic ones?

Hi Alain,
1) I selected Smartlink backup, to use wan 1, and wan 2 in case of wan 1 failures
2) I also tryied with load balance before, that is why the ping is activated, shall i try to disable it?
3) Static host are differentt servers, that is why i need to asign them a unique IP as i foward ports to them, while dynamic host are employees PCs.
Thanks for your help and dedication.

Alain,
i solved the issue, first i did what you told me, but then i realized that when using a DNS lookup, i should use www.google.com and not google.com as i was using!!
That was the main problem.
Thanks a lot!!!
Guido
