Hi!
I'm quite a Cisco-beginner compared to you all I guess.
I have installed a Cisco RV320 that works well but if a computer with that has a namne beginning with - or sometimes with username - gets connected to the network the RV320 denies internet access.

- Which specific error is then seen ? Also check the logs on the RV just after such an instance happens, see if you can find any additional info's

I'm not sure I understand but the specific error is that you don't get internet acces if you computername begins with "-" or if you for example have "-" as username (which you ofcourse shouldn't have but sometimes it happens).
Is the log necessary or is there anybody out there who knows if this is common on cisco routers and if there is a setting that takes care of that "problem"?

That is a not an app-error but a statement ,app-error(s) are browser error(s) when accessing a website, . (e.g.) ; the latter issues I was looking examples of .

We have a computerworkshop where we fix computers so there has been a lot of computers in with some sort of specialsign first in the computername, for example "-" and it's the same with every computer. It doesn't get internetacces. once we change the name and restarts it gets internetaccess. No other problems in general.
It usually looks like on the printscreen I'm sending now.

The problem is that the computer/user don't get internetaccess. It gets connected to the network but no internet. The symbol in the right corner on win10 shows this as well. Always if the computer has a name like "-HP" or a windowsuser has a name like "-". It seems that it has problems with special-symbols. Otherwise everything works perfectly. It seems to me like it has to be a setting in the RV320 and someone should have run across this before.

Hello,
check if the firewall is enabled on your RV320 (page 72 of the attached admin guide), if that is the case, disable it.

Hi!
The firewall is enabled but surely it should be? For security...

I would disable it just to find out if that is what is causing this problem. If it is, turn off individual features, I am pretty sure one of the security settings is the 'culprit'.

I turned off the firewall but still the same problem. When I changed the computername it got access so still the same.

Hello,
the screenshots show that your computer is getting an APIPA (169.x.x.x) address. What happens if you assign a static IP address to that computer ?
