Hi,
Would you know if S-VLAN tags are also used in LAN networks, probably large LAN networks?
Thanks if you have a reference.
Best regards,
Michel

Hi Michel,
in my humble opinion the use of 'stacked VLANs' is more need-driven, rather a size-of-the-network-driven solution. In other words, we should keep this option in mind and use it if there's a need for that.
For example, q-in-q was there in place for long and I have seen it being implemented in both SPs and enterprises.
Cheers,
Ivan.

Would it be difficult to rediscover a text about this subject, a brief history before 2005, date of the 802.1ad amendment?
I try to search also,
best regards,
Michel
