setup priority for the Internet Access in the same subnet?

Hello All,

My office is connected to the internet via Fiber, and Microwave as backup as I planned. Both Fiber and Microwave are on the bridge Mode. When I plugg the both cables to the Cisco switch, the internet would connect through Microwave as priority, I don't know why, but fiber stands as Backup.

Here is my question: How can I setup the Fiber as primary IP connectivity, and the Microwave as a Backup connectivty, these are configured as a bridge? Is there any type of setting priority on the interfaces, so if fiber fails the backup starts automatically? Please note that I am not looking for HSRP, IPSLA or VRRP since these are the routing protocols, and it will not work for this network.

Hope receiving your feedback soon. Thank you.

Hello,

please could you tell us what is connected in each end of the links?. In one end, there is a switch but in the other one?.

The solution depend on what devices are connected. I suppose that in the other end there is another switch and

you have spanning tree enable. So the path that is used depend the number of the port where the link is connected.

So the link that you prefer should be connected to lower.

number port.
