I have inserted

SFP-10G-SR to  port te0/0/3  on ASR-920-4SZ

and found that it shuts down the port automatically. This

ASR 920

has 1 gig license. does it mean that this

sfp

is not compatible?

Hello @kdsingh007,

SFP+ 10G SR

is compatible with your Router. You need 10G license.

--see Table 1:

https://content.cisco.com/chapter.sjs?uri=/searchable/chapter/content/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr920/configuration/guide/csa/csa-xe-3-13s-asr-920-book/csa-xe-3-13s-asr-920-book1G-10G-ports.html.xml

There are 4*10G ports that operate in 1G mode by default. To operate in 10G mode, you have to activate

10 GigabitEthernet Upgrade license

with single bundle or two bundles.

Best regards
