Hello - What is the difference between SFP-OC3-MM and SFP-OC3-SR.
In my case, I have a Single Mode OFC patch cable. When I use SFP-OC3-SR on ASR 1K, the POS interface comes UP. If I replace that with SFP-OC3-MM, the Link will not come up.
Is the Fiber cable matters here?. We initially thought both SR and MM are same.
Cisco document says below
SFP-OC3-MM= | OC-3/STM-1 pluggable short-reach (2 km) transceiver module, 1310-nm wavelength, MMF, LC connector |
SFP-OC3-SR= | OC-3/STM-1 pluggable short-reach (2 km) transceiver module, 1310-nm wavelength, LC connector |
Please share your experience. Thanks in advance

SFP-OC3-MM= is for use on Multi mode fiber up to 2Kms
SFP-OC3-SR= is for use on Single mode fiber up to 2KMs ( Short reach)
so you must be patching into a single mode fiber.
